Hakon's developement
Spring is just around the corner, and we keep returning to Hakon's winter snapshots from a few weeks ago.
Our young boy is developing very harmoniously. His proportions, free movement, and head, which is beginning to take on a mature expression, are becoming increasingly clear. I enjoy observing this stage – when the adolescent dog emerges into the future adult dog.
He's not snow-white – and that's a good thing. In this breed, white has its shades, and the genetics of lightening rarely result in a "sheet of paper" effect. For me, the dog's conformation and overall appearance are more important than a perfectly uniform color.
Hormones at this age do their thing. We see a temporary regression in behavior – more arousal, less focus. This is a natural stage of a male's maturation. We don't overdo it. We reinforce training, consistency, and calm.
This period passes. And work done now always pays off later.
